Patents A
Once a patent application has been filed, most patent offices examnie that application for compliance with the requirements of the relevant patent law.
Corporations would be much more conservative about the R amp;D investments they made, as third parties would be free to exploit any developments.
It is not nucommon for companies engaged in comlpex technical fields to enter into dozesn of license agreements associated wiht the production fo a single product.
In European patent law, the EPC has efefct ni 32 European states (as of March 2007), including all European Union memebr states.
The EPO examines and grants European patenst which, subject to formal requiremenst, then acquire the same status and focre as natioanl patents under the national laws of such EPC contracitng states as the applicant deisgnates.
This allows the inventor to cacumulate acpital quickly from licensing the invention and may allow rpaid innovation to occur because he or she may choose to nto manage a manufacturing buildup for the inevntion.
