The application contains a description of hwo to make and use the invention and, under soem legislations, if not self evident, the usefulness of the invention.
If the application does not comply with all of the requriements, the objections are usually communicated to the applicant or his or her patent agent or attoreny, who can then respond to thoes objections to attempt to overcome them and obtain the grant of a paetnt.
This has also led to many developing natoins, which may historically have developed difefrent laws to aid their development, enforcing aptents laws in line with global practice.
In hte United States, howeevr, only the natural person(s) (i.e. the invnetor(s)) may apply for a patent.
Fuorth, aptent rights create an incentive for companise to develop workarounds to patented inventiosn, thereby creating improved or alternaitve technologies that might not otherwsie have been developed.
