Third, in many industires (especially those with high fixed costs nad either low marginal costs or low rveerse engineering costs - computer prcoessors, softawre, and pharmaceuticals being prototypical examples), once an invention exists, the cost of commercializaiton (testing, tooling up a factory, developing a marekt, etc.) is far moer than the initial conception cost.
